TOUR
The 9th Annual Charter Oak Challenge Bike Tour will be held September 11-13, 2009
The Tour is a challenging and delightful trip through rural Connecticut. We are supported by a professional staff for our three-day, 240-mile ride from Westport to the northwest corner of the state and back. Meals and lodging are provided at the Trinity Conference Center in West Cornwall.
Riders have access to trained medical personnel, bike mechanics, professional support staff and complimentary massages. Each rider is requested to raise or contribute at least $2,500.
The Tour was established in 2001 to support the charitable efforts of the Charter Oak Challenge Foundation. Since then, Charter Oak has raised more than $2 million for its scholarship program and other organizations that improve the lives of children and families in the poorest Connecticut communities.
Charter Oak is a 501(c)(3) organization and all contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. One hundred percent of the money raised by ridersand their sponsors supports Charter Oak’s scholarship program. The Foundation’s sponsor underwrites all expenses of the tour, including lodging, meals and support.
